WordPress notified me today that I had registered 6 years ago with them. Wow. It’s been a long time. 83,413 views (some of them my own, lol), 64,678 visitors (many times me, haha), 102 followers, and 186 (er, 187) posts later… I still find the stats both interesting and sort of creepy. In some ways, I’d rather not see them. Having a private spot on the internet sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s easier to ramble when you don’t have an awareness of your audience. Ah well. So what’s happened in this blog world of mine?
I received an email today from Imageshack, telling me to switch to premium membership or they would dump me. So long, free image service! Image shack was very easy to use, and the price per month is only $2, so I can’t complain about that. However, I don’t want to pay for it. I pray WordPress doesn’t become a for-pay service (although it looks like they can sustain it with the services they do offer).
I don’t like Photobucket, and I’m not sure of whether or not it will become a for-pay service either.
But the biggest problem with relocating is this: there are 90 images. Some of them I can simply ignore in the move and point to links. But the ones I decide to keep will end up in my blog storage.
In short, if some image links are broken, it’s not my fault, but please inform me of them.
I was going over images tonight and I realized they are all stored on WordPress.
This must be a new backup feature because usually the links break. I guess WordPress thought it was a good idea to preserve things this time. 🙂 … But I may back up my images anyways.
Edit: Nope. All gone. Guess I just have to upload everything again. Sorry about the broken links.
I missed my blog’s birthday by 1 hour and 8 minutes. *sigh* But! I’m still going to celebrate!
I’ve been rather quiet for some time, since I’ve been busy, and apparently my blog has been rather active behind my back too. Today sets a new high for views: 129, and the day isn’t over. People were looking mostly at the contents page. Funny I should mention stats, as I and most people I know complain about Google viewing. If you think things have changed since the NSA scheme was uncovered, you’re likely to be disappointed, but that’s off topic.
Speaking of this blog, it’s birthday is coming up again – the 17th to be exact – and I don’t intend to miss that.
In the mean time, I have a thing or too I’ll be posting.
Kinda reminds me – once upon a time, I intended to start a blog devoted purely for tutorials on Irrlicht, a 3D engine I really enjoy using. Alas – good intentions. Tutorials are a ton of work, which is why good ones are hard to find.
Wait, you read all this? I feel bad – I didn’t say anything worth reading, did I? Here, have a joke:
– joke –
And there you have it: 10000. Ironically, this is also the 120th post on my blog. And here I thought I’d reach 10000 before 120 posts. I guess I was right but only by a 1-post margin. lol
I’ve had 75 views today (record high) and over 7800 views total. Unusual thing though – it seems more people were interested in the content today than usual since the number of viewers was at the now average. I wonder if it something to do with who has found about this blog. … Oooo scary! Do I have stalkers I don’t know about? :O
Now celebrating with a gorgeous fractal.
This is post 100.
As anticipated, my blog has reached 5000 views. Alas, it beat me to 100 posts (this post is 98). And here I almost made it.
Unless I directly query the name of my blog, the chances of me finding it online are very slim…
